teases and mocks, promises
flirts around but never kisses
fake or a twisted reality

Desire! isn't a painful joy?
whimsical, shaky, powerful
sneers at beauty when attainable
yet pleads as it turns unavailable
oh! what a wicked ploy!

Joy! an ephemeral paradise
peculiar, puzzling its appearances
arbitrary, capricious its causes
is there a more devilish vice?
